Can my child attend a Trial Session?

Yes, all children should try a class before committing to the full term. Once a space is available for your gymnasts age you will be offered a trial date. This trial will be £7 by bank transfer to be paid before their trial date. After that trial session you will then be offered the space for the rest of the term.

How do I pay for Miss Poppy’s Gymnastics Classes?

Your gymnasts first trial session will be paid by bank transfer. If they then choose to enrol for the rest of the term after their trial, you will then be invoiced for the rest of the term and this must be paid by bank transfer. We offer split monthly payments so please speak with Miss Poppy to organise this if needed.

Where are your classes held?

All classes run from John Mason School, Wootton Road, Abingdon, OX14 1JB.

Can parents watch the class?

For all classes we do not have a space for the parents to view each and every class. The hall is too small once all the equipment is out. You will not be allowed to sit inside the gym once class has started unless told otherwise by one of the coaches. The last session of the term big terms you will be invited in for “Sneak Peek Week” where you can quietly sit and watch the class and see how your gymnast is doing. However, should this be distracting for the gymnasts we may ask you to wait outside for the benefit of your child and the rest of the class.

Are your teachers qualified?

All our coaches are fully qualified gymnastics coaches with IGA Gymnastics. Our Coaches are all insured by IGA Gymnastics. They are DBS checked and Safeguarding qualified. We always have a trained First Aider present.

What is your Coach to Gymnast ratio?

Miss Poppy's Gymnastics operates a standard 1:8 ratio for all classes.

What does my gymnast need to wear for class?

Gymnasts should wear a leotard or shorts/leggings and a t-shirt. Our Team Kit is available to purchase. Check out our Team Kit page.

Bare feet and long hair tied back. Please remove all jewellery before each session. If earrings cannot be removed, please ensure they are taped over.

Does my gymnast need IGA Gymnastics Insurance?

Every child must have their own IGA Gymnastics membership to be able to continue classes with us.

After your child’s first trial session should they choose to enrol for the rest of the term you will be invoiced for the class fees along with the £15.99 fee that is for IGA Gymnastics Insurance. This covers your gymnasts from September though till the following September. There is no discount for joining near the end of the insurance year. It renews every September. Current members will always receive this fee in their summer invoice to make sure it’s paid ready for September.

Failure to have IGA Gymnastics insurance will mean your child will not be insured and will not be able to take part in our gymnastic classes.
